7/30/12 UPDATE: Rambo was adopted and recently returned to GPMR through no fault of his own.  His family is going through a divorce and neither was able to keep him.  He is back in his orginal foster home and settling in great like he never left.  He really does enjoy the company of other dogs.  This boy now weighs in at a whopping 190 pounds and has tested negative for heartworms!  Rambo is back to health and looking for a home - is that home yours?

 

This is Rambo, he was given up by his family to a neighbor when they didn't want him anymore and basically turned him loose in the front yard.  Rambo had many friends pulling for him to get into rescue and we can't thank them enough for saving this sweet boy. Rambo has spent his entire life in the backyard.  At 127 pounds, he is about 30 pounds underweight and had bad skin and ear infections when he came in.  He is missing a lot of hair from being infested with fleas.  He is also heartworm positive, so we'll be starting him on oral medications to treat that.  Despite living in a neglectful situation, Rambo is a very happy and sweet boy.  He is good with other dogs but probably too rambunctious for small kids.  He needs a family who can see he is a "diamond in the ruff" - once this boy is healthy, he'll be stunning!
