Meet Gus! He found his way into a TX shelter as a stray dog and when no owner came forward to claim him, he was transferred to GPMR for rehab. This boy was absolutely emaciated when he arrived at the shelter. He was only 88 lbs when he arrived! He's put on weight. The vet estimates he is 3-4 years old. It's hard to tell since he was clearly very nelgected!

When Gus came to us, he had caught an URI but that's cleared up. He is good with the other dogs in his foster home. We know he'll grab a chicken if given the chance but did drop when told to :) However with that, it would probably be best for him to live in a home without cats.

Gus finished his heartworm treatment which was a huge step for him! He's shown some signs of allergies that we are working on getting treated and determining if it seems to be a food allergy vs an environmental allergy.

Gus does well with other dogs and would do best having a canine companion in his forever home. Since we don't have any history of him with kids, a home with older kids age 10+ would be best.

Gus is being fostered near Austin, TX
