Meet Luna! She is Mastiff mix that was left on the property of an animal shelter on a hot day in a crate with no food or water. They only left a note that her name was Luna and she was 2 years old. Thankfully someone spotted her before she spent too much time out in the 100 degree + heat.

Luna is a nervous dog, especially about new things and people but once she is comfortable with new people she is a lover. We are seeing this a lot with people who purchased puppies during Covid and did not do any socializing or training with them. We've gotten multiple dogs 2 and under in the last year with similar issues. Luna is very scared of men and will bark at them, but will warm up to then after time. She prefers to go up to them rather than have them approach her. She doesn't like them to make sudden moves. Sometimes we have to assume with dogs who act like this, they were mistreated by a male. But we are working on teaching her that no men are going to hurt her ever again.

She knows how to sit and we are working on stay. She is very food driven. Luna does well in her kennel but doesn't like to be left out of things and will whine in her kennel if she thinks she is missing out. She is also very well house trained and she walks well with a leash. Luna is learning about things in the outside world and doing great!

Luna loves to play and so a confident friendly dog that can be her playmate would be a great home for her. Her foster mom doesn't think she will be good with cats. We do not recommend her for home with kids as the constant activity and friends coming in/out would be stressful for her. We have her on a low dose of anti-anxiety meds as well which seem to be helping her adjust.

Luna is a very dark fawn. She is about 95 lbs right now. We suspect she is part Mastiff and either German Shepard or Anatolian Shepard. She is fully vetted and heartworm negative!
