Mastiff / Boerboel Mastiff : : Male (neutered) : : X-Large
*** Bull's adoption fee is waived as part of our Fall in Love Adoption Special!!! *** Meet Bull. This poor boy was found wandering in a rural area with an infected gun shot wound in his face. He was brought to the local animal shelter who took him to a vet for care. They sedated him and removed a bullet that was located in his neck. It's amazing that he survived the initial shot at all. Thankfully he was rescued in time to get the infection treated. Bull was absolutely emaciated and so his foster mom got some much needed weight on this boy. He's met the dogs in his foster home and has some dominance issues with the male. We've hired a trainer to see if this is something we can work through but unfortunately he continued to start fights with the other male dog. He loves the female Mastiff in the home but he cannot live with other male dogs. He likes to chase and try to grab small animals, so no small dogs or cats for him. With an experienced home we think he could live with another female dog his size. Bull has a condition called Cherry Eye, where his glands in the corner of his eyes have become swollen and out of place. He had surgery to correct this and his eyes look great! Bull is too much for small kids but a home with older kids 12+ would be fine. We think he may be a Boerboel aka South African Mastiff as he does have a docked tail and displays some of the traits we can see with this breed of Mastiff. Bull is being fostered in Tulsa, OK.
