Meet Eve! She was rescued from a situation where she was living tied up outside of a barn. Her original owner had died, and she went to live with his friend who at the time had a home with a lot of land. Unfortunately due to COVID, he lost his job and home and had to move into an apartment where Eve could not stay with him. She then went to live at the barn, where the property owner then talked her current owner into surrendering her to Rescue. That's a lot of change in a short time!

Despite her rough past year, Eve is a super sweet girl. She is a bit timid in new situations but her foster mom is taking her on regular walks and exposing her to new people and she's doing great. She totally ignores the cats in her foster home and is doing just fine with the other Mastiff who lives there. Her foster mom reports she is a wonderful dog and an easy keeper.

We believe Eve is a Brazilian Mastiff, aka Fila Brasilero. While most Filas are very protective of their home and people, we have not seen this behavior with Eve in the 2 months we've had her. She seems to enjoy her walks in the neighbhorhood and meeting new people. So we say she is atypical for the breed in that regard. We do know she can be nippy with young children so a home with older kids or an adult only home would be best for her. Sometimes these females who've had litters prior to arriving at GPMR treat dogs like their puppies and try to correct them by nipping. So no kids for her!

Eve is being fostered near Tulsa, OK.
