Meet Winnie! She's had a few owners as far as we can tell. She was surrendered to GPMR by a family who had taken her from her original owners who could no longer keep her. Then that family had to move unexpectedly, and gave her to a family member. For unknown reasons, that person could not keep Winnie and she came to GPMR.

Winnie is 3 years old. She does still have puppy-ish behaviors and is on the active side for the breed. She would definitely benefit from having a large dog to play with in her adoptive home to help her run off some of that puppy energy. Winnie does have a strong prey drive, so no cats or small dogs for her. She also is overly interested in goats, so needs a home where her owners and neighbors are goat-free! Winnie has a genetic condition called entropion, where her upper eyelids roll inward towards the eyes. She also has ectropion in her lower lids, where the lids are rolled a bit out. We had her evaluated by a vet who is not recommending surgery as neither is causing issues with the eye itself.

Winnie is a little too much dog for small kids, but a home with older kids 10+ would be fine for her.

Winnie is being fostered in Shawnee, OK.
