Meet Gemma! She was abandoned by her owners when they moved and left her and several other dogs behind. They were so scared and running away from the rescue people trying to save them. It took several days to win Gemma's trust and get her safe. She was very thin missing hair from having so many fleas.

Because of her neglect, Gemma is very timid of people and new places. Like most Mastiffs, she is "starving for love" and becomes a velcro Mastiff once she starts trusting you. Gemma will do best in a calm, adult-only home and needs someone who has patience in gaining her trust. She appears to have has been abused and is scared of fly swatters and still startles easily with sudden movements.  She is improving but it is slow progress.

Thankfully Gemma tested negative for heartworms. She is on medication for urinary incontinence and is doing well with it.  She is housebroken. The vet guesses her age around 5.5 years old.

Gemma will be a wonderful companion and has lots of love to give to the special person willing to take the time and love she deserves.

Gemma is being fostered in Shawnee, OK
