Meet Buckley! This cutie is about 7 months old. He was purchased to become a service dog for his owner but unfortunately he did not pass his evaluations and it was determined he would be best as a pet rather than a working dog. Buckley is often afraid in new situations and meeting new people, so service work was not an option for him.

Buckley's foster mom reports he is doing great with her and her dogs. He recently met some new friends who came over to see them and he was pretty afraid at first. But with some treats and positive reinforcement, plus help from the other dogs in the home, he did really well. We don't know how he is with cats as he hasn't met any.

We are looking for either an adult only home or a home with older kids, no little ones for this boy as he would be stressed with the noises and activity that comes with having small kids.

The ideal home will have another confident, friendly dog that Buckley can continue to learn from as well as a family who has experience with fearful dogs. We will also be requiring Buckley's adopters to take him to a positive-based training class to help socialize him with new people and help him continue to build confidence and to realize he doesn't need to be afraid.

Buckley is being fostered in DFW, TX.
