Welcome Captain to GPMR, he is estimated at 6 years old. He was rescued last year by his owner, but her living situation had changed and she was no longer able to keep him. Captain has a deformed front leg, supposedly it has been this way since birth. He gets around really well and it doesn't seem to slow him down.

Captain came in very underweight at 100lbs, and had a horrible skin infection which we've treated and is doing much better now. However we did have to treat some ear infections since we've had him. His hair is almost completely grown back. The vet said she did not recommend doing anything for his deformed leg. It's not infected or bothering him in any way and he's adjusted so well to walking, she doesn't think it would be fair to remove it.

So far Captain has been great with every person (and animal!) he has met! He is super sweet and cuddly and as you can see, loves snuggling in his blankets. His foster parents report he is a very easy keeper but he does like someone to be home part of the day. He also isn't able to use a crate due to his front leg and needs a house without stairs. He also has a hard time getting in and out of the car, so he's not a good match for someone who wants to bring their Mastiff on regular car rides. He's very happy to stay at home and nap!

Captain is being fostered near Springfield, MO
