6/27/10: Meet Grace.  This poor girl was rescued off the side of the highway by a good Samaritan.  It is by the Grace of God that she is still alive.  At 67 pounds, she one of the worst starvation cases we have seen. We are estimating her age at 2 years old.  She is hospitalized at the Vet and on IV fluids so that we can get her healthy enough to go into foster care.  She had ticks crawling all over her and a heavy load of intestinal worms which is being treated.  Luckily she tested negative for heartworms and also tick-borne diseases.  With some TLC and lots of food, we hope that she will recover completely from her malnutrition.

Despite the hardships she has faced, Grace has nothing but love to give.  Even while the Vet was taking a blood sample, Grace's tail just wagged and wagged.  This girl truly knows she was rescued today.

6/28/10: Grace is out if ICU, she is eating and drinking well and was in much better spirits when we visited her today.  She will be going into her foster home on Friday.  Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers for her!

7/1/10: Visited Grace at the Vet's office. She is doing so much better!  What a wonderfully sweet girl she is.  Her foster mom is so excited to pick her up tomorrow!

7/6/10: Grace had a major setback this weekend.  She was acting very sick on Saturday night, her foster mom took her into the vet at 11pm and we found out she had bacterial enteritis which is an infection in the intestines.  She spent the weekend on IV Fluids and medications and was just released from the hospital.  Grace was so happy to be back with her foster family and greeted them with wags and kisses!!

7/13/10: Grace's foster mom reports that she is doing fantastic!  She is putting on weight now and you can just tell she is feeling better.  Thanks for everyone's support to help us get this girl healthy!

8/22/10: Grace continues to do well.  She is up to 102 pounds!  She got a vet check today and they are very happy with her progress.

Grace's medical bills so far have been over $1,000 so please consider donating to her care!

Grace will be on Medical Hold while she gets healthy enough to be adopted.  Please consider donating to her care today and if you are interested in adopting her when she is ready, fill out the online adoption application.

Grace is being fostered in Carrollton, TX.
