This is Monster, I took him in when friends found him as a stray.  I have had him since Late December and he has stayed in the yard and in the house with no issues.  I have two dogs in addition to him that are large dogs and I have also had him around my mom’s Shitzu.  Monster is not at all aggressive, but is protective of me - however he is very easy to control, even if he is being protective.  His general personality is very docile.  He is usually very lazy but can be coaxed into playing.  He has been around my 3yr old niece who uses him as a bean bag chair and has never once harmed her.  The vet said that despite being seriously malnourished for about a year, he is in very good health.  The vet estimated that he is about 5-6 years old and should live to be about 10 or 11.  Due to his malnourishment, his hips do give him problems in the morning and when it is cold.  As he has put on weight, the strain on his hips has lessened.  Monster’s healthy weight should be about 115lbs.  The vet said he has no heartworms and the only skin issues he has is scars from being a stray. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.  Right now he is a heavy eater and eats about 8 cups of food.  He doesn’t gorge himself on food, and is only eating that much now because he is finally putting on weight.  It is obvious that his previous owners had him kennel trained, and we have had very few “accidents”.  He does have a sensitive stomach and must be kept on a higher quality dog food of a consistent brand.  All in all, Monster is a sweetheart who would be great in any living situation.  I wish I could keep him, but I can't and I would love to find a loving home for him, especially one with children to play with him.  If you are interested in Monster please email me at: kendall@insmg.com
